Green Dragon Fuel: following a natural cycle

  • Nottinghamshire-based Phoenix Fuels is a group of fresh produce, cereal and oilseed growers and technical engineers who are processing and crushing oilseed rape to produce both food and environmentally friendly Agri-fuels.
  • They’re launching their Green Dragon Fuel briquettes at the Newark and Nottinghamshire County Show in May 2008.
  • Green Dragon Fuel is a unique, solid fuel briquette made from rape meal, the solids remaining after oil extraction.
  • The Green Dragon Briquettes burn three times longer than wood, give off twice the heat and are ideal for all solid fuel appliances including boilers, stoves and open fires.
  • Environmentally-friendly “British Made” Agri-fuels are being developed as a potential alternative fuel source as fossil fuels to continue to deplete
  • The Green Dragon Fuel launch coincides with the NFU's confirmation in mid April that we can draw a clear distinction between bio-fuels produced to the "The British Model" and bio-fuels produced across the globe, which are endangering precious environments.
  • All Phoenix Fuels rapeseed is sourced locally, from within a 30 mile radius of the production site.
  • Green Dragon Fuel is made from Rapeseed oil, as opposed to the potentially environmentally damaging Palm and Soya oils currently harvested by other companies for mass-production bio-fuels
  • Green Dragon Fuel is created by leading UK farmers, on British farm land
  • Phoenix Fuels have developed a cyclical model for environmental sustainability that can be adapted for other businesses.
